Professor Ambrumova's era: her contribution to Russian suicidology

Abstract. Dedicated to Professor Anna Ambrumova's 100-th anniversary, this article deals with some major landmarks in Ambrumova's long and fruitful creative activities and demonstrates the up-to-date value of her systematic scientific research, efficiently applied to practice. This outstanding character is noted for founding the discipline of suicidology in Russia as well as for creating an original concept of suicidal behavior and regional suicide prevention programs.
